Samsung Eternity Review

At first glance the Eternity is eye catching. It has the look and feel of a good device. The touch screen is very responsive but not too sensitive. The main screen is amazing and definitely one of a kind. There is a list of customizable widgets on the left hand side that you can scroll through with the stroke of a finger. They can be dragged to the middle of the screen for easy use and alternative organization of the widgets. The Eternity is not a PDA however it does support Mobile Email that is offered through the Media Net (Unlimited internet package recommended $15) The 3G browser is pretty fast and looks very nice. The browser supports YouTube viewing also. I searched and watched three videos and in a 3G area there was no buffering. The screen shifts when the phone is being held horizontally for a wider view. The biggest issue with full touch screen devices is the size of the QWERTY keyboard on the screen. This is by far the best touch screen keyboard I've ever seen. The Eternity gives you the option to vertically multi-tap the message or shift the phone horizontally for the full keyboard. The keys are the ideal size for smooth and fluent texting. Both options have the click on contact feature that makes it feel lie you are actually pushing a button. It give the user a more secure feel when typing. There is a one touch T9 option and also a handwriting mode! I know that may not be the #1 option for sending a text message but it is really cool and is pretty accurate. There is a slot for a micro SD card to save pics, music and movies. Also a 3.5 aux. jack for stereo headphones and/or an aux. cord to connect to your vehicle. Overall this device is easy to use and you will not be bored quickly. Launch price tag is $150 after a $50 mail in rebate. This device is very well priced and is actually cheaper than some obvious inferior devices. Definitely worth looking at as an alternative to the iPhone. This is not another over hyped phone that disappoints the public. I approve this device.
